Tasting Note

A bright colour with clear legs that herald what is to come, the aromas rapidly announcing that this is a very charming and almost heady wine. Delicate floral notes of rose and jasmine interact with hints of yellow fruit: peach, Mirabelle and tropical fruit: lychee, mango, dragon fruit. The bouquet is expressive but not overly so; it retains a sense of refinement and nuance, a true Hugel wine. On the palate it is fine and delicate, not too weak; it invites you to travel afar and enjoy it with strong flavoured dishes. The precision of the final note could even lead some of its detractors to become reconciled with this strong-headed grape variety.

Product Notes

Famille Hugel Classic Gewurztraminer is a rich and aromatic white wine that hails from the famous Alsace region of France. This elegant wine showcases a beautiful golden hue and a bouquet of exotic floral notes, lychee, and spice. On the palate, it offers a harmonious balance of sweetness and acidity, with flavors of ripe stone fruits, rose petals, and a hint of ginger. The finish is long and lingering, leaving a pleasant and memorable taste on the palate. This wine is perfect for pairing with spicy Asian dishes, creamy cheeses, or enjoyed on its own as a delightful aperitif.

About the Winery

Famille Hugel

The Hugel family has been making wines in Alsace ever since 1639. While Hans Urich  Hugel’s family settled down in Alsace during the 15th century, he took control of Winegrowers' Corporation in the region during 1639. Within a few years, his son constructed the family house in the Rue des Cordiers. The family crest, which was carved on this house's doorway, is used as Famille Hugel’s logo even today.
