Tasting Note

South Africa meets the Rhone, with lashings of garrigue, pepper and spice. Raspberry and black cherry coulis – ripe with fine grained, present tannins, lavender and bramble, very crisp with dark spices such as clove, iodine – lots of iron and blood orange, yet the core of the wine is sweetly fruited and scented

Product Notes

Lukas Van Loggerenberg's Graft Syrah is a wine that exudes elegance and complexity. Made from grapes grown in the granite soils of South Africa's Swartland region, the wine is a beautiful expression of the unique terroir. This medium-bodied, ruby-red wine boasts notes of blackcurrant, black pepper, and smoked meat, and a hint of floral aromas. With a silky texture and balanced tannins, it offers a long, flavorful finish. The wine is aged in French oak barrels for 12 months, adding to its complexity. Lukas Van Loggerenberg's Graf Syrah is a perfect wine to pair with roasted meats, hearty stews, or strong cheese.

The history of Lukas Van Loggerenberg remains closely associated with the story and origin of the winemaker of the same name. The wine estate started as an own-label endeavour and project of Lukas and Roxanne, his wife.
