Tasting Note

Deep ruby in colour, this wine opens with intense aromas of blackberry, cassis and olive with subtle nuances of cedar and tobacco. These notes continue on to the palate where they are complemented by fine, supple oak tannins. A full-bodied wine with great structure and a firm lingering finish of cassis and tapenade.

Product Notes

The Plantagenet Aquitaine Mount Barker Cabernet Sauvignon is an exceptional wine that embodies the rich and complex flavors of the Mount Barker region in Western Australia. With a dark and intense color, this Cabernet Sauvignon has aromas of blackcurrant, rich plum, and subtle hints of spice. The palate is savvy and full of flavors of dark cherries, cassis, and blackberry, interwoven with elegant and supple tannins that slide along the tongue. The finish is long, smooth, and satisfying. This wine is perfect for red meat dishes, particularly lamb and beef, and will continue to develop gracefully for many years to come, making it a wonderful addition to any wine cellar.

About the Winery

Plantagenet

Located at Mount Barker in Western Australia’s Great Southern wine region, Plantagenet is a very famous Australian winery that was established in 1975. When Tony Smith identified the exact location in Mount Barker for opening his winery, the place was nothing but an apple picking shed. The complex character of Plantagenet wines is mainly because of the unique Marri soils found in this region. Marri is the Red Gum trees that grow in plenty in this area.
