Product Notes

Spice Route Swartland Pinotage is a full-bodied South African red wine that showcases the unique character of the Pinotage grape. It is produced in the Swartland region of South Africa, which is known for its warm, dry climate and diverse soils. The wine is deeply colored, with aromas of ripe dark fruit, tobacco, and spice. On the palate, there is an explosion of rich black fruit flavors, with a touch of smokiness and well-integrated oak. The tannins are firm, but not overpowering, contributing to a lengthy and satisfying finish. Spice Route Swartland Pinotage is an excellent choice for pairing with grilled meats and hearty stews.

About the Winery

Spice Route

The Spice Route Winery has been named thus because it was established by the Spice Boys in 1997 in South Africa. The winery was a result of many brains in the South African wine market namely Charles Black from Fairview, John Platter (a journalist by profession), Jabulani Ntshangase from Spier and Gyles Webb from Thelema.
