Tasting Note

Powerful concentrated layers of green figs and gooseberries, with a touch of grapefruit, fynbos and a steely minerality on the palate. A reflection of the cool maritime climate of Elim. Lees contact during the winemaking process creates length and richness on the aftertaste, which will progress even more over the next 2 or 3 years.

Product Notes

Ghost Corner Sauvignon Blanc is a refreshing and elegant wine from a unique vineyard situated on the southernmost point of the African continent. This wine is a true reflection of its terroir, with crisp citrus and tropical fruit flavors that playfully dance on the palate, followed by a zesty finish. The aromas of gooseberry and passionfruit are accompanied by subtle notes of minerals and flint, adding complexity to this wine. The fruit is perfectly balanced by a lively acidity, making it easy to drink and very food-friendly. This wine is perfect for any occasion, from a casual lunch to a formal dinner, and pairs beautifully with seafood, salads, and grilled vegetables.

About the Winery

Ghost Corner

At the southernmost African tip lies the ghost corner wines. Over the years, over 130 ships have been destroyed by the treacherous waters. The issue with this area is the fact that compasses don’t show any deviation between the true and magnetic north. This makes navigating the area impossible, especially on stormy dark nights.
