Tasting Note

A seductively aromatic concoction of vine-ripened red and black berries with dried oregano and some cloves. A highly perfumed style of Marlborough Pinot Noir with exotic fruit sweetness and a delicate smoky infusion. The palate is rounded with a fruitcake richness, considerable weight and classic cool-climate vibrancy.

Product Notes

Greywacke Marlborough Pinot Noir is a shining example of New Zealand winemaking at its finest. This exquisite red wine is crafted from Pinot Noir grapes grown in the prestigious Marlborough region, known for its cool climate and mineral-rich soils. The result is a wine with intense aromas of dark cherry, raspberry, and earthy notes, complemented by subtle hints of spice and oak. On the palate, it offers a harmonious balance of fruit, acidity, and silky tannins, leading to a smooth and lingering finish. This elegant and complex wine is perfect for pairing with grilled salmon, mushroom risotto, or simply enjoyed on its own. A true delight for the senses, Greywacke Marlborough Pinot Noir is a must-try for any wine enthusiast.

About the Winery

Greywacke

The Greywacke winery in New Zealand wouldn’t have been so popular today, if Kevin Judd, one of the pioneer winemakers from Marlborough, hadn’t taken a personal interest to identify it and develop the place. This winery is named after the famous bedrock of New Zealand, the grey-wacky, which is almost considered as the national stone of the place. Judd, a professional photographer, explored the winery to a great extent to become a master in making wines without any intervention. Thanks to the unique winemaking process followed here, the wines produced in the Greywacke winery are full of authentic flavours and good concentration of the fruits.
