Tasting Note

This is the more powerful wine of Il Borghetto's two pure Sangioveses. Sinewy, muscular tannins give the Montedesassi considerable punch and drive. Like all of these wines, the Montedesassi is quite perfumed and savoury in style.

Product Notes

Il Borghetto Montedesassi wine is a luxurious and refined red wine from the Tuscan region of Italy. Made from 100% Sangiovese grapes, this prestigious wine offers a complex and harmonious flavor profile with notes of ripe dark fruit, vanilla, and a hint of spice. The wine is aged in French oak barrels for 18 months, allowing it to develop a silky smooth texture and elegant tannins. With a deep ruby color and a long, lingering finish, Il Borghetto Montedesassi is the perfect choice for special occasions or for those who appreciate the finer things in life. Enjoy this exquisite wine with roasted meats, aged cheeses, or simply savor it on its own to experience the full depth of its character.

About the Winery

Il Borghetto

Il Borghetto is a small, artisanal winery located in San Casciano in Val di Pesa, within the Chianti Classico region of Tuscany. The estate was founded in the early 2000s by Antonio Cavallino and his family, who envisioned creating wines that express authenticity, purity, and a deep sense of place. From the beginning, the focus has been on low-intervention, terroir-driven winemaking, emphasizing the individuality of each vineyard parcel rather than conforming to traditional appellation norms.
