Tasting Note

Complex and intense aromas of rich dark fruit, sweet spice, dark chocolate and dried herbs lead to a palate of concentrated dark fruit flavours. Fine tannins envelope the abundance of fruit. This is a wine of great power, length and poise.

Product Notes

Jim Barry The Armagh Shiraz is a fine wine produced by Jim Barry Wines, a family-owned and operated winery that has been crafting top-notch wines since 1959. Named after the Armagh district in South Australia, this Shiraz is made using handpicked grapes from the vineyards located in the Clare Valley region. The result is a deep and complex wine featuring a dark and intense colour. On the nose, it offers an array of aromas such as dark chocolate, blackberry, plum, and vanilla. On the palate, it is full-bodied and rich, packed with flavours of blackcurrant, spice, and tannins that provide a firm structure. A wine of exceptional balance, it has a long finish that makes it a must-try wine for any Shiraz aficionado.

About the Winery

Jim Barry

Located in the Clare Valley region of Australia, the Jim Barry wine label was established during 1959 by Jim Barry. The wines produced by him were known for their unique character and flavour. When he started making wines in this region, he was the first qualified person to do so. His wines were mostly made from varietals such as Riesling, Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon. Today, his family members have taken over this brand.
