Tasting Note

Bright medium-deep crimson with a purple hue. On the palate an iron fist wrapped in a velvet glove, the 2020 is deep and brooding, from an incredibly low yielding vintage, this wine demands time in the cellar before opening. Lifted plum, redcurrant, some earth and a hint of charry oak in the background.

Product Notes

Kaesler Old Bastard Shiraz is a bold and powerful red wine that showcases the best of Barossa Valley grapes. This full-bodied wine offers intense flavors of dark berries, plums, and spices, with hints of vanilla and oak from aging in French oak barrels. The Old Bastard Shiraz has a rich and complex palate, with velvety tannins that provide structure and depth. This wine is perfect for those who enjoy a full-bodied, robust red wine that is sure to impress. Whether enjoyed on its own or paired with a hearty meal, Kaesler Old Bastard Shiraz is a true standout in the world of Australian wines.

About the Winery

Kaesler

Kaesler Wines is a renowned Barossa Valley estate celebrated for its rich heritage and exceptional old-vine Shiraz. Located near Nuriootpa in South Australia’s most iconic wine region, the winery traces its origins back to 1893, when the Kaesler family—early German settlers—planted their first vineyards on the property. Many of these original vines still produce fruit today, forming the foundation for some of Kaesler’s most acclaimed wines.
