Tasting Note

The Lismore Estate Reserve Syrah is an elegant, perfumed and bright, with notes of white pepper, classic garrigue and perfumed floral notes of crushed violets. Light and graceful yet structured, this is a crystal clear expression of extreme cool climate Syrah.

Product Notes

Lismore Estate Reserve Syrah is an exceptional wine that embodies the essence of the dynamic terroir of Greyton, South Africa. The estate is located in the cool climate region of the Western Cape and the winemaker takes a hands-on approach to produce this exquisite Syrah. The grapes are handpicked and the wine is aged for 24 months in French oak barrels to create a rich, complex, and intense wine. It boasts a deep magenta hue and is layered with flavors of blackberries, dark plums, and licorice with a subtle hint of white pepper. The wine has a firm tannic structure and a long, lingering finish that adds to its allure. A perfect match to hearty meat dishes or strong cheeses, this Lismore Estate Reserve Syrah is a must-try for any wine enthusiast looking for a unique and delicious wine.

About the Winery

Lismore

It was when Samantha O’Keefe, a Berkley-educated student, moved to a quiet little town in South Africa that the seeds for the Lismore Wine Estate were sown. She moved to the beautiful town of Greyton, located at the bottom of the Riviersonderend range of mountains. Though there weren’t any wine producers nearby, she realised the potential of the land, thanks to the excellent climatic conditions and terroir quality of the place.
