Tasting Note

An exotic experience which shifts your mind to another place. Cassis, blackberry and cherry on the nose with hints of white pepper, ground herbs and the strong floral perfume of crushed violets. Light and elegant, but structured with a fresh acidity.

Product Notes

Lismore Syrah is a full-bodied and rich red wine that hails from the cooler climate Elgin region in South Africa. It is a single-variety wine made from 100% Shiraz grapes, which are cultivated at high-altitude vineyards. This terroir imparts unique characteristics to the wine, including a strong minerality, vibrant acidity, and tannins that are well-structured yet refined. The wine is aged in French oak barrels for up to 18 months to add depth and complexity, resulting in a spicy and elegant wine with aromas of black fruit, smoke, and earth. Lismore Syrah is a delicious accompaniment to grilled meats and savory dishes.

About the Winery

Lismore

It was when Samantha O’Keefe, a Berkley-educated student, moved to a quiet little town in South Africa that the seeds for the Lismore Wine Estate were sown. She moved to the beautiful town of Greyton, located at the bottom of the Riviersonderend range of mountains. Though there weren’t any wine producers nearby, she realised the potential of the land, thanks to the excellent climatic conditions and terroir quality of the place.
