Tasting Note

The influence of wild yeast, vineyard site, barrel-ferment and time on lees makes for a rich and textural style of Sauvignon Blanc. Fifteen months in French barriques has given this wine a well-rounded textural palate while still retaining freshness at the back of the palate.

Product Notes

Mahi The Alias Sauvignon Blanc is a delightful and refreshing wine that hails from the famous Marlborough region of New Zealand. It is named "The Alias" due to its ability to effortlessly disguise itself and adapt to any occasion or setting. With a pale straw color, this Sauvignon Blanc exhibits vibrant aromas of tropical fruits like passionfruit and pineapple, along with zesty citrus notes. On the palate, it offers a lively and crisp acidity, with flavors of ripe gooseberries and guava, all balanced by a subtle minerality. Mahi The Alias Sauvignon Blanc is an excellent choice for those seeking a versatile and approachable wine that pairs well with seafood, salads, or enjoyed on its own as a refreshing apéritif.

About the Winery

Mahi

Mahi, the New-Zealand based wine brand, is a perfect example of the rich winemaking potential of the lands of the exquisite Marlborough Valley. Brian, who established this brand, came back to this valley in 1996, after many years of winemaking in different parts of the world. To his dismay, he noticed that there weren’t many labels in New Zealand that made full use of the rich terroirs of Marlborough; instead, they were only making regional blends that didn’t talk much about the soils where the fruits were grown.
