Tasting Note

This is a Chardonnay with a subtle yellow color. The nose presents aromas reminiscent of citrus and tropical fruits together with notes of honey and a delicate saline note, unique to our vineyard’s terroir. The wine is concentrated on the palate with good volume, fresh acidity, and a long, elegant finish.

Product Notes

Matetic Vineyards EQ Quartz Chardonnay is a white wine that is elegant and crisp with a bright yellow hue. The wine is made from 100% Chardonnay grapes grown in the San Antonio Valley, Chile. It is aged in French oak for up to 11 months, which gives it its full-bodied flavor. The wine has aromas of ripe apples, pears, and tropical fruits that create a perfect balance between fruit and oak. On the palate, it has a refreshing acidity and mineral notes with hints of vanilla and butter. This wine pairs well with seafood, pastas, salads, and roasted poultry. It is a perfect choice for wine enthusiasts who love a classic and refined Chardonnay.

About the Winery

Matetic Vineyards

In 1892, Jorge Matetic-Celtinja came to Punta Arenas by travelling from Fiume, an ancient port in the Austro-Hungarian Empire. It is known as Rijeka in Croatia of today’s time. He became the first generation of his family to reside in Chile. The origin of Matetic Vineyards started in 1999 when the first vineyards got planted and harvested in the Rosario Valley. The place, situated in a location surrounded by the coastal valleys of San Antonio and Casablanca, became the pioneer of producing cool-climate and high-quality wines.
