Tasting Note

The 2017 Barolo Prapò is yet another stellar wine in this range. Dark and brooding in the glass, the Prapò expresses all of the natural weight of this Serralunga cru, but with more overt fruit and a bit less tannic heft than is often the case. That should make the 2017 a real pleasure to drink, with just a handful of years in the cellar. Succulent black cherry, licorice, menthol, gravel and cured meats build into the heady finish. - Antonio Galloni, Vinous 95+/100

Product Notes

Paolo Scavino Barolo Prapo is a stunning red wine from the prestigious Piedmont region of Italy. This exceptional wine is made from Nebbiolo grapes grown in the Prapo vineyard, known for its steep slopes and mineral-rich soil. The result is a complex and elegant wine with aromas of red fruit, flowers, and earthy undertones. On the palate, it offers a harmonious balance of fruit, acidity, and tannins, creating a velvety texture and a long, lingering finish. This wine is aged in French oak barrels for 24 months, adding layers of depth and complexity. Paolo Scavino Barolo Prapo is a true masterpiece, showcasing the best of Italian winemaking traditions.
