Tasting Note

This wine has a lovely luminosity. The colour is bright crimson and the nose has delicate earthy aromas combined with red and dark berry flavours. On the palate these characteristics follow through, combining with interesting savoury notes and just a touch of oak on the finish.

Product Notes

Paul Cluver Wines Estate Pinot Noir is a premium wine that comes from a combination of grapes harvested from the estate's vineyards in Elgin. The wine is known for its deep, ruby-red color and aromas of wild berries, spicy oak, and cloves. It is a medium-bodied wine with an intense flavor of plums, cherries, and earthy tones, leading to a clean and lingering finish. The Pinot Noir is aged for 10 months in French oak to achieve a subtle and delicate balance of fruit and oak. This vintage Pinot Noir is an excellent choice for any occasion and pairs well with grilled salmon, roasted pork, and mushroom risotto.

About the Winery

Paul Cluver Wines

Paul Cluver Wines is one of South Africa’s family-owned and run wineries located in the Elgin appellation. In the mid-1980s, Dr. Paul Cluver cultivated the first grapevines in the region, establishing the Wine of Origin. Soon, owing to his critical eye for detail and the desire to improve the quality of his productions, Paul realised and recognised the worth of Elgin as a Pinot country. Today, the Cluver family runs and manages Paul Cluver Wines. All the members are a pioneering and visionary spirit.
