Tasting Note

The Prazo de Roriz is characterized particularly by red fruit flavours — raspberries and cherries and the Quinta de Roriz terroir provides a distinctive minerality and appealing peppery spice. The Quinta da Perdiz vineyard also provides grapes for the Prazo de Roriz. The wine is made for drinking young, but with the potential for developing in bottle for several years.

Product Notes

Prats & Symington Prazo de Roriz is a bold and flavorful red wine from the Douro Valley in Portugal. The wine is made from a blend of traditional grape varieties, including Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinta Roriz, and Tinta Barroca. It is aged in oak barrels for up to a year, resulting in a rich, complex flavor profile that combines dark fruit notes with hints of spice and vanilla. The wine has a deep ruby color and a smooth, velvety texture that enhances its full-bodied taste. With its strong flavor and elegant finish, Prats & Symington Prazo de Roriz is a great wine for special occasions and fine dining.

About the Winery

Prats & Symington

Prats & Symington is the collaboration of two famous winemaking families-Prats and Symington. The Symingtons sought to combine their extensive knowledge of the terroir and grape varieties of the Douro region with the experience of Bruno Prats in the Bordeaux region.  The alliance took off as the Prats & Symington Limitada in 1999, which sought to create the best wines from the best grapes of the region's best vineyards and stay true to the Bordeaux spirit. Chryseia 2000 was the first vintage launched by the company in 2000. The Chryseia project was started in the Douro Valley of Portugal, famed for its vineyards and wines produced from the grapes there.
