Product Notes

Riecine La Gioia Rosso Toscana is a blend of Sangiovese and Canaiolo grapes grown in the hills of Tuscany. This wine is a deep ruby red color with hints of violet and has a complex aroma filled with notes of ripe cherry, raspberry, and black currant. On the palate, it is dry and full-bodied with a well-balanced acidity and tannins that impart a smooth and lengthy finish. The wine is aged in oak barrels for a year, which enhances its complexity, richness, and depth. It pairs well with red meat, game, and aged cheeses. Riecine La Gioia Rosso Toscana is an outstanding expression of Tuscany's winemaking tradition, crafted with passion and knowledge.

About the Winery

Riecine

The story and origin of Riecine go back to as late as 1112 A.D. At that time, the winery remained under the ownership of a monastery named Badia a Coltibuono in the San Lorenzo a Coltibuono Abbey. The church or abbey’s archives provide the first records and proofs of the wine estate and farm. It suggested that wine may have gotten produced in the hills surrounding Riecine even before the early 12th century.
