Product Notes

Riecine Riecine di Riecine Rosso Toscana is a distinct and refined Italian red wine, produced in the Chianti Valdarno area of Tuscany. The wine is a blend of Sangiovese, Merlot, and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes, carefully selected from the vineyards of Riecine. It has a rich ruby-red color and a complex bouquet of red and black fruits, cherry, and spicy notes. On the palate, this wine is bold, full-bodied, with smooth tannins, and a persistent finish. The wine is aged in French oak barrels for 12 to 18 months, which lends this wine a subtle complexity and a balanced structure. Riecine Riecine di Riecine Rosso Toscana is best enjoyed with grilled meats, game, and hearty stews.

About the Winery

Riecine

The story and origin of Riecine go back to as late as 1112 A.D. At that time, the winery remained under the ownership of a monastery named Badia a Coltibuono in the San Lorenzo a Coltibuono Abbey. The church or abbey’s archives provide the first records and proofs of the wine estate and farm. It suggested that wine may have gotten produced in the hills surrounding Riecine even before the early 12th century.
