Tasting Note

It is a powerful, intense wine that also displays elegance and balance, bringing out the character of the terroir. Intense ruby, with violet nail, and with complex aromas that bring to mind sour cherries, currantsand other wild berry fruit, mingled with licorice and vanilla. A wine of great structure and complexity, which is soft and velvety, thanks to its richness and the perfect ripeness of the tannins

Product Notes

Rocca di Montegrossi Geremia is a delicious red wine from the heart of the Chianti Classico region in Tuscany, Italy. Made predominantly from the Sangiovese grape variety, with a small addition of Cabernet Sauvignon, this wine is a harmonious blend of tradition and modernity. With a deep ruby colour and intense aromas of ripe black fruit, spice and vanilla, the palate is rich and full-bodied with silky tannins and a long, lingering finish. Rocca di Montegrossi Geremia is a perfect accompaniment to grilled meats, game and mature cheeses, and will continue to develop with cellaring for up to 10 years.

About the Winery

Rocca di Montegrossi

The history of the Rocca di Montegrossi dates back to the sixth and seventh century AD when it was established by Geremia, the founder of the Ricasoli-Firidolfi family during the time of the Longobards. The family has played an essential role in laying the foundation for the Chianti Classico wines. The estate’s strategic location dominates much of Valdarno Superiore and Chianti and has a rich and dramatic history of conquests, destruction and rebuilding.
