Tasting Note

Deep and complex flavours of prunes, black cherry jam, spice and tobacco weave through the full bodied palate with its velvety texture and long, complex finish of cocoa, coffee and vanilla bean. Quite delicious.

Product Notes

San Marzano Anniversario 62 Primitivo di Manduria DOP Riserva is a premium red wine produced in the southern Italian region of Puglia. This 100% Primitivo grape wine is made from grapes that are hand-picked and fermented in stainless steel tanks before being aged for 18 months in French oak barrels. The result is a complex, full-bodied wine with a deep ruby color and intense aromas of ripe black fruit, vanilla, and spice. On the palate, flavors of blackberry, plum, and tobacco are complemented by balanced tannins and a long, persistent finish. This wine pairs well with grilled meats, pasta with hearty sauces, and aged cheeses.

About the Winery

San Marzano

In the year 1962, 19 winemakers of the San Marzano village in the Primitivo di Manduria DOC region of Italy, joined hands to form the Cantine San Marzano wine label. One of the major highlights of this union was that during that time, the village didn’t even belong to a formal appellation, but still the winemakers came together to create a label that was to produce wines that represented the true terroirs of Italy.
