This wine is produced in the hills of Mount Etna, Sicily, which is one of the world's most renowned wine regions. The wine is a blend of Nerello Mascalese and Nerello Cappuccio, which are two local grape varieties that lend the wine its distinctive notes of dark fruit, red berry, spice and minerality. The wine is aged in French oak casks for 16 months, which further develops its complexity and intensity. Located near Mount Etna, Tenuta delle Terre Nere is one of the best wine producers in Italy. The winery was a project and endeavour of Marco De Grazia. Marco had always remained involved in the world of wines since his early years. Many people consider him to be the person who put the region of Etna on the winemakers’ map, attracting worldwide fame and recognition. Additionally, he served as the driving force that convinced the Italian wine industry of the significance of establishing Contrada in their producing areas.
