Tasting Note

The 2020 Guidalberto is taut and tight with plenty of tart cherry and wild berry. The wine offers great freshness and tension with bay leaf, spice, wild cherry and pressed lavender buds. There is a hint of black olive too. The blend is equal parts Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot.

Product Notes

Tenuta San Guido Guidalberto is a world-renowned wine producing estate located in Bolgheri, Tuscany. Originally established in the 1940s by the Marquis Mario Incisa della Rocchetta, the estate's famous Sassicaia wine is credited with revolutionizing the Italian wine industry and putting Bolgheri on the world wine map. Guidalberto, its second label, is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Sangiovese, and is crafted in the same style and with the same attention to detail as its illustrious 'big brother'. This wine has a rich bouquet that is followed by a full-bodied, velvety smooth flavor that is perfect for enjoying with a meal or on its own. Aged for 15 months in French oak barrels, Tenuta San Guido Guidalberto offers a luxurious and unforgettable vinous experience.

About the Winery

Tenuta San Guido

Tenuta San Guido is a highly reputed winery in the Bolgheri village in the Livorno Province in Italy. The wine estate had been established in 1944 by Mario Incisa della Rocchetta, the marchese of the region at that time. Tenuta San Guido was the first winery to make and sell a wine made using Cabernet Sauvignon in the 1940s. The success and initiative could be attributed to the founder’s foresight and experimentation.
