Product Notes

Teso la Monja Romanico is a remarkable red wine from the Toro region of Spain. Made from 100% Tinta de Toro grapes, this wine is a true expression of the unique terroir of the area. It boasts intense aromas of ripe black fruits, spices, and earth, with a hint of vanilla from its time spent aging in French oak barrels. On the palate, it is full-bodied and velvety, with well-integrated tannins and a long, lingering finish. This wine pairs perfectly with grilled meats, hearty stews, and aged cheeses. Teso la Monja Romanico is a true gem that showcases the best of Spanish winemaking traditions.

About the Winery

Teso la Monja

Teso La Monja is a prestigious winery located in the Toro DOC of Castilla y León, Spain, founded in 2007 by Marcos and Miguel Ángel Eguren, members of the historic Eguren winemaking family from Rioja Alavesa. After shaping the modern reputation of Toro with their previous project, Bodegas Numanthia, the Egurens established Teso La Monja to focus on the elegance and expressive potential of the native Tinta de Toro grape. The winery remains family-owned, with the next generation, including Eduardo Eguren, actively involved in vineyard management and winemaking.
