Thelema Merlot is a rich and velvety red wine produced in South Africa's Stellenbosch region. Grown on a single vineyard located in the picturesque Jonkershoek Valley, this Merlot boasts a deep, intense ruby color and aromas of ripe cherries, plums, and dark chocolate. On the palate, it is full-bodied with a round and soft texture, while flavors of blackcurrants, red berries, and spices blend seamlessly with a hint of vanilla oak. Thelema Merlot has a long, satisfying finish that pairs well with hearty meat dishes and soft cheeses. Aged for 18 months, it is a well-balanced wine that truly exemplifies the quality of South African winemaking.

About the Winery

Thelema

The family-owned Thelema Mountain Vineyards are located in the highly wine-rich area of Stellenbosch in South Africa. Thelema wines and Sutherland wines are created from the grapes produced at these vineyards. The Thelema vineyards are located towards the south east of Simonsberg Mountain at an altitude of about 530m above sea level. This altitude enables in growing high quality and premium grapes.
