Tasting Note

An intriguing nose of oak spice, blackberry jam, and fresh forest fruit. The powerful savoury drive contrasts the richness of the fruit with notes of toasted wood, tobacco leaf and liquorice. An incredibly complex bouquet to discover slowly as the wine breathes and opens up. The palate is structured and robust, with savoury tannins carrying the wine from a strong attack to a lingering finish. The dark fruit is ripe, concentrated, and persistent. The oak is present, yet integrated, its spice complementing this wines richness beautifully. This is a Shiraz for the collectors, delivering complexity and balance today, but it will reward those who carefully cellar it over the next decade and beyond.

Product Notes

Tscharke Distinction Shiraz is a bold and elegant wine that exemplifies the unique terroir of the Barossa Valley in Australia. This wine is brimming with intense aromas of dark cherry, blackberry, and spice, with hints of vanilla and cedar from aging in French oak barrels. On the palate, it is full-bodied and velvety smooth, with layers of ripe fruit flavors, subtle herbal notes, and a long, lingering finish. The tannins are well-integrated, providing structure and balance to this exceptional wine. Tscharke Distinction Shiraz is a true expression of craftsmanship and quality, perfect for savoring on special occasions or pairing with rich dishes like grilled steak or lamb.

About the Winery

Tscharke

Located in the heart of the western Barossa Valley at Marananga, Tscharke Wines is a progressive, family-owned estate that combines generations of farming heritage with a modern vision for sustainable viticulture. The Tscharke family has farmed in the Barossa since the mid-1800s, with six generations cultivating vineyards across the region before transitioning from grape growers to estate winemakers. The winery was established by Damien Tscharke, who released the inaugural vintage in 2001 and has since built a reputation as one of Australia's most innovative producers. Today, Damien continues to lead the business, championing regenerative farming, organic and biodynamic viticulture, and minimal-intervention winemaking.
