Tasting Note

This has the wonderful, hedgerow fruit and savoury notes of a Cote de Beaune red Burgundy: rosehip, crab apple, medlar and sloe, with savoury hints of leather and roast lamb. In the mouth, both succulently fruity and completely dry, it has a nip of decidedly Burgundian tannin, masses of complex, dried herb, cured meat, truffle and dried mushroom notes, and fabulous palate length.

Product Notes

Viña San Pedro 1865 Tayu Pinot Noir is a rich and elegant wine that showcases the best characteristics of the Pinot Noir grape. The wine is sourced from the prestigious Tayu Vineyard in the Leyda Valley of Chile, known for its cool climate and ideal growing conditions for this delicate varietal. The wine boasts aromas of ripe red cherries, strawberries, and a hint of earthiness. On the palate, the wine is smooth and velvety, with flavors of raspberry, blackberry, and a touch of spice. The finish is long and satisfying, making this wine a perfect choice for pairing with a variety of dishes, from roasted duck to creamy mushroom pasta. Overall, Viña San Pedro 1865 Tayu Pinot Noir is a standout wine that captures the essence of the Leyda Valley terroir and the skill of the winemakers at Viña San Pedro.

About the Winery

Viña San Pedro

Viña San Pedro is one of Chile’s oldest and most historic wine producers, founded in 1865 by the Correa Albano brothers in the fertile Curicó Valley. The family were pioneers in bringing classic French grape varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Chardonnay to Chile, helping to shape the country’s modern wine industry. Over more than 150 years, the winery has grown from a traditional estate into a major international brand.
