Taste Profile
Tasting Note
Rockford’s Sparkling Black Shiraz is made from a base wine originating from a 200-dozen bottle treasure trove of mature shiraz made by Robert O’Callaghan in the late 1970s. Open fermented, basket pressed and matured in seasoned oak, this aged material is the mother lode of Rockford’s modified solera, a three-year fractional blending system. Oxidised base material provides soft textures and flavours. Hallmarks of this celebratory and timeless sparkling red wine are velvety, smooth, aged textures and richness of fruit.
Product Notes
Rockford Sparkling Black Shiraz is a bold and unique Australian wine that combines the intensity of Shiraz with the effervescence of sparkling wine. This dark and mysterious wine pours a deep purple hue, revealing notes of blackberry, plum, and spice on the nose. The palate offers a burst of rich, ripe fruit flavors, balanced by fine bubbles that add a touch of elegance. With a velvety smooth texture and a long, lingering finish, this sparkling Shiraz is perfect for special occasions or as a standalone indulgence. Pair it with grilled meats or hearty cheeses for a truly unforgettable tasting experience.
