Tasting Note

The wine is dry yet exudes tantalising herbal, spice and stone fruit aromas. Complex nose of apricot, graphite/pencil shavings, cut ginger, cloves, elderflower, white pepper, Belgian white ale, and wild honey leaps from the glass. On the palate, the wine has a soft entry but with good grip, an earthy sweet chalk/clay element with notes of lemon oil, tangerines, tea and cinnamon apples

Product Notes

Brash Higgins ZBO Zibbibo Amphora is a white wine made from the Zibbibo grape variety that is grown in the McLaren Vale region of Australia. What makes this wine unique is that it is fermented in clay amphorae vessels, which imparts a distinct minerality and complexity to the wine. On the palate, this wine is full-bodied, with tropical fruit flavors such as pineapple and mango, balanced by a pleasant acidity. The finish is long and lingering, with a subtle hint of spice. This wine is perfect to pair with seafood, spicy dishes, or as an aperitif. Overall, the Brash Higgins ZBO Zibbibo Amphora is a wine that showcases the unique character of the McLaren Vale region.

About the Winery

Brash Higgins

Brash Higgins, based out of Southern Australia, is a creation of Brad Hickey and Nicole Thorpe. Brad, nicknamed "Brash" by Australian pruners, brought his interest in food and wine and the experience of having worked in the US and Australia to the table. Nicole had a vineyard named Omensletter, with Cabernet, Sauvignon, Shiraz varieties of grapes planted in 1997. When the two met in 2007, Australia was reeling under drought, affecting the Omensletter vineyard.
