Product Notes

Vina von Siebenthal Parcela #7 is a premium red wine crafted with excellence and expertise by one of Chile's most renowned winemakers. A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot, and Merlot grapes sourced from the best vineyards of Colchagua Valley, this wine reflects the terroir, climate, and geography of the region. The wine boasts an intense ruby color, complex aromas of black fruits, spices, and herbal notes, and a rich, full-bodied flavor with hints of chocolate, coffee, and oak. The tannins are very smooth and balanced, making it the perfect match for grilled red meats, strong cheeses, and hearty stews. Truly a remarkable wine that represents the best of Chilean winemaking.

Tasting Notes

Parcela #7 has the qualities missing in so many modern wines. It has a subtle red currant and redberry-scented bouquet with touches of sous-bois, hazelnut and aromatic herbs that are very attractive. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins and pure red berry fruit mixed with black peppe, sage and cured meats. It is very well-balanced and fresh, the finish supple and in tune with the oak. A wine to drink and drink...

About the Winery

The story and history of Vina von Siebenthal remain closely associated with that of Mauro von Siebenthal. Mauro was a lawyer by profession in Switzerland. At the age of forty, he decided to leave his job and pursue his love for winemaking. He moved on from his previous lifestyle to produce wines of the highest grade in the Aconcagua Valley in Chile.

It was in 1998 that Mauro planted grapevines in his 10-hectare vineyards located in the town of Panquehue. In 2000, he developed and constructed the winery, styling it after a conventional Chilean design for a country house. Later, Vina von Siebenthal released its first vintage in 2002. In current times, Mauro and Matteo von Siebenthal, his son, own and work with 32 hectares of land. They expanded the plot with immense efforts and hard work by implementing organic agricultural practices and techniques. Today, Vina von Siebenthal is one of the most notable and prestigious wineries in its region.

Vina von Siebenthal works with a philosophy that resembles that of the chateaux at Bordeaux. They aim to blend the aspects and processes of the cellar, wine estate, and vineyards to create a beneficial system. The winery aspires to facilitate and enhance all the elements that can aid in creating world-class wines.

Vina von Siebenthal owns four primary vineyards. They remain located in a semi-desert region that lies halfway between the Pacific Ocean and the Andes. The area provides an ideal climate that ensures and offers excellent and desired conditions of phyto-sanitation. The winery has distinguished and separated the soils needed for each variety of grape that it plants. For Cabernet Franc and Merlot, the cold clay-limestone is the most suitable. It is the warm, stony, and sandy soil that is preferable for Syrah, Petit Verdot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Carmenère.
