Tasting Note

This wine is aromatic and intense with great volume in the mouth and achieves a balance between the fresh acidity and the texture contributed by 6 months’ maceration with the skins. Vinification in amphorae contributes rich texture to the palate and results in a wine with tension, volume and smoothness. Ageing potential of around 10 years.

Product Notes

De Martino Viejas Tinajas Muscat is a unique and exquisite wine from Chile’s De Martino winery. Made from 100% Muscat grapes organically hand-harvested from old vines in the Limari Valley, the wine’s character is a product of traditional winemaking techniques, using clay amphorae, or tinajas, for fermentation and aging. The wine has a brilliant golden color and an enchanting bouquet of wildflowers, honey, lemon, and apricots. On the palate, its texture is smooth, rich, and full-bodied, with hints of caramel and spice. With its balanced acidity and long, mineral finish, De Martino Viejas Tinajas Muscat is an exquisite dessert wine that pairs well with fruit tarts, creamy cheeses, and sorbets.

About the Winery

De Martino

Established in 1934, the Chilean wine estate of De Martino is the result of one person’s dream of making the best wines of his region. Pietro de Martino, a native of Italy, moved to Chile to give wings to his dreams of making unique and stylish wines. He found his answer when he stepped foot in the region of Isla de Maipo. This place was rich in alluvial soils, and it enjoyed a Mediterranean climate, which helped De Martino to make his dream of creating elegant wines, a reality. Today, the estate is run by the fourth generation De Martino family members, with the same passion as the founder.
