Product Notes

Domaine Jean-Baptiste Ponsot is a family-owned winery in the region of Rully, Burgundy. The estate is small but boasts a collection of some of the finest Pinot Noir vines in the region. The Rully Rouge is a classic Pinot Noir with blackberry and cherry flavors, supple tannins, and a hint of minerality. The wine is produced using traditional Burgundian techniques, including hand harvesting and aging in French oak barrels. The vineyard is organic and sustainable, with no pesticides used in the production process. The result is a wine that is delicate, elegant, and full of character, perfect for pairing with a range of dishes or enjoying on its own.

About the Winery

Domaine Jean-Baptiste Ponsot

Established in 1954, Domaine Jean-Baptiste Ponsot is a South African winery founded by Lucien Ponsot. At the initial stages of the estate and its vineyards’ growth, the founder farmed and produced only a few parcels and bottles of wine. The actual expansion of the winery’s property began under Lucien’s son, Bernard. Bernard put and exerted immense time, effort, and hard work to extend the area of the vineyards one step at a time.
