Tasting Note

Agiorgitiko is the red grape of Nemea, making silky smooth, fruit-packed reds with a velvety finish. This cuvée shows intense aromatic finesse evolving from ripe berries and gooseberry through to caramel and discreet oak nuances. Soft tannins underline a rich, well structured velvety body

Product Notes

The Gaia Agiorgitiko is a premium red wine that boasts a rich and complex profile. This wine is made using the Agiorgitiko (St. George) grape variety, which is cultivated in the vineyards of Nemea in Greece. The wine has a beautiful deep ruby color and is bursting with intense aromas of red fruit and spices. On the palate, it is full-bodied, with an excellent balance of acidity and tannins. The wine has a lingering finish and can age elegantly for several years. Gaia Agiorgitiko is an excellent match for a range of dishes, including roasted meats, game, and rich sauces.

About the Winery

Gaia

The Greeks are known for traveling to various places and picking up knowledge from around the world. This rule applies to two agriculturalists, Yiannis Paraskevopoulos and Leon Karatsalos. Their love for wine took them to various wine-rich places of the world, where they learnt the tricks of the trade, before starting their own wine label, Gaia, in the year 1994. Since then, they have been doing all that they can to make the most of the two ultimate wine regions of Greece – Santorini and Nemea.
