Product Notes

Tasca d'Almerita - Tenuta Tascante Contrada Pianodario is a Sicilian winery renowned for its exceptional quality wines. Pianodario is one of their most prized vineyard plots producing significant wines in the volcanic shade of Mt. Etna. This wine is made from the Nerello Mascalese grape variety which is exclusively grown in the Mount Etna region. With its ruby-red color and the aroma of wild berries, this wine features a delicate taste with balanced acidity and tannins. The flavors of red fruit and spices, combined with its light and fruity taste, make this wine a perfect companion for roasted meats and cheese. Its fresh and mineral notes give this wine a long-lasting finish that will satisfy even the most discerning palate.

About the Winery

Tasca d’Almerita - Tenuta Tascante

The history of the Italian wine estate Tasca d’Almerita’s history dates back to 1830. In this year, the brothers, Lucio and Carmelo Mastrogiovanni Tasca purchased 1200 hectares of area located in the Regaleali Contrada in Sicily. The brothers introduced novel agricultural technologies in this farm, as a result of which, it was named a “model farm” of those times. In the 1890s, the vineyards of Tasca family witnessed a huge destruction because of the phylloxera pandemic. Therefore, a nursery was created at Villa Camastra to graft grapevines on healthy soils.
