Tasting Note

The 2021 Reserve Albarino displays intensely pure and expressive characters of ripe peach and citrus lime entwined with a subtle saline mineral complexity. The palate starts rich and concentrated before flowing to a long and sleek finish, where notes of lime brightly echo long after.

Product Notes

The Villa Maria Reserve Albariño is a rich and complex white wine that comes from the Marlborough region of New Zealand. This wine is made from 100% Albariño grapes, which are hand-harvested and carefully selected. The nose is filled with juicy peach, apricot and citrus aromas, while the palate has a vibrant acidity and a mineral-driven finish. Aged on lees for a number of months, this wine has a creamy texture that adds depth and character. It pairs perfectly with seafood dishes, especially shellfish, and is a refreshing option to drink on a hot summer day. Overall, the Villa Maria Reserve Albariño is an exquisite wine that exudes elegance and sophistication.

About the Winery

Villa Maria

Villa Maria is New Zealand’s most popular and most awarded winery today. George Fistonich was only 21 years old when he started this wine label. He got 5 acres of land in Mangere, Auckland, from his father, and set about to give wings to his winemaking passion. The very next year, he made his first wine from the grapes planted on this land, and he named the wine, Villa Maria.
