Tasting Note

Bright yellow straw color, with green hints that reflect its youth. Aromas of tropical fruits (pineapple) and citrus fruits first appear along with white fruits (apple) and herbs, such as boxwood and fennel. Dry with an amazing balance of freshness and acidity. Good structure and body given by its fine lees’ aging. Long finish with a slightly bitter palate, typical of the variety.

Product Notes

Bodega Protos Verdejo Rueda is a white wine produced in Rueda, a wine region located in the province of Valladolid, Spain. Made from the Verdejo grape, which is grown exclusively in this region, this wine is known for its aromatic intensity, crisp acidity, and freshness. The grape is picked during the night to ensure maximum freshness and then fermented in stainless steel tanks to preserve its delicate flavors. The result is a pale yellow wine with aromas of grapefruit, lemon, and herbs. On the palate, it is bright and lively with flavors of green apple and anise. It pairs beautifully with seafood, salads, and light dishes, making it the perfect choice for a summer evening or a sunny day.

About the Winery

Bodega Protos

Protos, in Greek, means “first”. The wines of Bodega Protos strive to be exactly that – the first in quality and precision. It was during 1927 that this label was set up with the help of the local vine growers in the region of Camino Bodegas Protos in Valladolid in Spain. Within a couple of years of inception, the Protos red wine was awarded a gold medal at the World Exposition in Barcelona, a great start to the brand name, indeed!
