Tasting Note

The apperance is bright, clean and with golden reflections. Citric and fruity (green apple) nose, with an important balsamic note (aromatic herbs…). The varietal aromas are perfectly balanced with the lees and bakery notes created during the aging. On the palate, the creaminess from the lees is prominent and it has a living bubble which is very well integrated, providing it with freshness and persistence.

Martín Códax Espumoso Albariño is a refreshing sparkling wine from the Galicia region of Spain. Made with 100% Albariño grapes, the wine has a bright straw yellow color and aromas of citrus, green apple, and hints of white flowers. On the palate, it is balanced, crisp and lively with a refreshing acidity and a delicate creamy mouthfeel. The sparkling wine uses the traditional method of fermentation in the bottle, where the wine develops its effervescence over an extended period. Martín Códax Espumoso Albariño is a versatile wine that pairs perfectly with seafood, salads, and light dishes. It is an excellent choice for any social gathering or celebration.

About the Winery

Martín Códax

The Galician Winery of Martin Codax was established only in 1986; it is one of the newest to have arrived in the Spanish wine market. However, within a short time, this brand has been successful in giving global recognition to the unique Albarino grape varietal that it uses for creating its premium wines. Set in the scenic Spanish fishing village of Cambados, the Martin Codax winery is located in the serene Salnes Valley towards the northwest of Pontevedra.
