Product Notes

Ocampo Vijariego Negro is a unique and nuanced Spanish wine that showcases the complexity and character of the indigenous Vijariego Negro grape. With deep purple hues and aromas of ripe blackberries, dark cherries, and hints of earthy minerals, this wine offers a rich and velvety texture on the palate. Medium-bodied with well-integrated tannins, it presents a harmonious balance of fruit and acidity. The finish is long and lingering, leaving a pleasant and memorable impression. Perfect for pairing with grilled meats, aged cheeses, or hearty stews, Ocampo Vijariego Negro is a delightful choice for wine enthusiasts seeking something distinctive and refined.

About the Winery

Ocampo

Ocampo is a boutique winery located in the Tacoronte-Acentejo appellation in northern Tenerife, where steep slopes, Atlantic influence, and volcanic soils create uniquely expressive wines. The estate sits between 280 and 400 meters above sea level, with vineyards planted largely on ungrafted, old-vine stocks of native Canarian varieties. These are cultivated using sustainable, low-intervention methods that emphasize soil health and traditional training systems such as cordón Royat.
