Tasting Note

Rustic and spicy nose: strawberries and raspberries, but growing in a farmyard, not a garden, darkening in the mouth into blackberry and Morello cherry, plus a lick of liquorice.

Product Notes

Fontanafredda Briccotondo Barbera Piemonte DOC is a ruby-red wine that originates from the Piedmont region in northwest Italy. It is made from 100% Barbera grapes, which are grown on Fontanafredda's vineyards situated on the slopes of the Langhe hills. The grapes are hand-harvested, and the wine is aged in stainless steel tanks to preserve its fruity flavors and aromas. This wine has a fresh and vibrant taste, with notes of cherry, raspberry, and spice that linger on the palate. It can be paired with a wide range of dishes, from pasta to grilled meats, making it an ideal accompaniment for any meal. Its versatility and delicious taste make it a fantastic addition to any wine collection.

About the Winery

Fontanafredda

If there is one Italian wine label with a rich, royal history, it has got to be Fontanafredda. Started by the first King of Italy in 1858, Fontanafredda, is one of the richest and authentic Italian wine labels today. Vittorio Emanuele II purchased the Fontanafredda wine estate, and dedicated the same to his children, who were the Count of Fontanafredda and Mirafore. Within 8 years of buying the estate, the King bought his first Barola vineyard.
