About the Winery

Chateau Picque Caillou

Château Picque Caillou is a historic wine estate located in the heart of the Pessac-Léognan appellation, just outside Bordeaux, in Mérignac. The château was built in the mid-18th century by architect Jean Laclotte, and for many years served as a country residence before falling into decline. In 1947, it was purchased by entrepreneur Étienne Denis. Today, it is owned and run by his granddaughter Isabelle Denis and her husband, Paulin Calvet, who have breathed new life into the estate since taking over in 1997.
