Tasting Note

A modern style of Australian red that also respects the tradition of regional and varietal blending to make a more rounded wine. The wine shows intense plum fruit sweetness from the Shiraz with dark berry and chocolate characters. The Cabernet component adds to the length and fullness of the wine.

Product Notes

Tyrrell's Wines Winemaker's Selection VAT 8 Shiraz Cabernet is a rich and complex wine that is made using traditional winemaking methods. This wine is a blend of Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes that are handpicked from the best vineyards in the Hunter Valley region of New South Wales, Australia. The grapes are then fermented separately and aged in French oak barrels for 18 months before being blended. The result is a full-bodied wine with aromas of blackcurrant, blackberry, and spice, which are complemented by flavors of dark chocolate and vanilla. This wine is perfect for pairing with red meats, game, and cheese.

About the Winery

Tyrrell's Wines

The Australian wine label of Tyrrell’s has a rich history that dates back to 1858. During this year, Edward Tyrrell, who had shifted to Australia from England, took control of 320 acres of land in the Hunter Valley region. The iron slab hut that he constructed on this land still stands today to transport you back into those days. He started planting Shiraz and Semillon vines in this region, and there was no turning back for his company after that.
