Tasting Note

The Ultreia ‘Saint Jacques’, which takes its name from the Camino de Santiago, is an excellent introduction to the Raúl Pérez range and offers great value. Floral and fruit-driven on the nose, aromas of raspberries and blackberries burst out of the glass. Fine-grained tannins on the palate with a lifted acidity that drives the juicy berry fruit onto the crisp finish.

Product Notes

Raúl Pérez Ultreia Saint Jacques is a Spanish wine that is taking the world by storm. This wine is made from pure Mencía grapes, which are grown in the Bierzo region of Spain. It has a deep violet color and a complex aroma of black fruits, spices, and mineral notes. On the palate, it has a rich and full-bodied flavor that is well-balanced with a long and elegant finish. This wine is aged for 12 months in French oak barrels, which impart a smooth and subtle smokiness to the wine. Raúl Pérez Ultreia Saint Jacques is a perfect accompaniment to grilled meats, stews, and hearty pasta dishes. It is best served at a temperature of 16-18°C.

About the Winery

Raúl Pérez

Raúl Pérez is a unique winery that, unlike traditional wineries, changes and modifies its brands, wine types, and vineyards according to the varying factors of nature and its creator’s creativity. Its venture starts with a link between the owner Raúl Pérez and Castro Ventosa. The latter was a family-owned winery in Valtuille in Leon’s Bierzo region. The wines there inspired the aspiring oenologist and winemaker, leading him to develop and create his winery.
