Tasting Note

The 2020 Les Griffons de Pichon Baron shows a deep garnet-purple hue in the glass. Aromatically expressive, it opens with a rush of ripe blackberries and blackcurrant pastilles, laced with cracked black pepper. Subtler layers of wood smoke, black olive, and earthy truffle emerge with air. On the palate, it's medium-bodied and vibrant, framed by finely woven tannins that carry the wine through to a finish marked by elegance and finesse.

About the Winery

Château Pichon-Longueville Baron

Château Pichon-Longueville Baron is a prestigious winery located in the Pauillac appellation of Bordeaux's Left Bank, France. It is classified as a Second Growth (Deuxième Cru) in the 1855 Bordeaux Classification. The estate's origins date back to 1694 when Baron Jacques Pichon de Longueville married Thérèse de Rauzan, uniting two influential winemaking families. The estate was eventually divided in 1850 between his heirs, creating two separate châteaux: Pichon Baron and Pichon Comtesse de Lalande.
