Tasting Note

Finely aromatic with lovely sappy, vital, fresh cherry fruit. There’s more red fruit than black, and also a nice touch of green. Finely spiced and structured on the palate with good acidity. Juicy, linear and pure with amazing precision and focus. There’s beauty and precision to this wine with lovely green hints. Ethereal. 96/100. Jamie Goode.

Prophet's Rock Cuvée Aux Antipodes Pinot Noir is a red wine from Central Otago, New Zealand. It is made from the finest hand-picked grapes, fermented naturally and aged in French oak barrels. The wine has a medium ruby color with a mesmerizing bouquet of black cherry, violet, dried herbs, and subtle smokiness. The palate is silky and generous, with flavors of red and black fruits, pomegranate, and a hint of spicy earthiness. There is an excellent balance between the acidity and tannins, leading to a lasting finish. This Pinot Noir is an exemplary representation of the terroir of Central Otago and is perfect to pair with grilled meats, roasted vegetables, and aged cheeses.

About the Winery

Prophet's Rock

The New Zealand wine brand of Prophet’s Rock is considered to be one of the most premium categories in the Central Otago region. It was established in 1999 with the sole aim of creating unique wines that were never tasted before in this region. Today, the Prophet’s Rock label makes use of only three grape varietals – Riesling, Pinot Gris and Pinot Noir, grown in its own estate, to create its wines.
