About the Winery

This estate, in the heart of the Saint-Chinian appellation, has been in the Bergasse family since the 16^th Century. Two highly energetic and capable brothers Nicholas and Arnaud Bergasse, have now taken over full control of the winery from their father and have created an outstanding range of wines, taking this prestigious estate to a new level. The vineyards are situated on the limestone hills and ancient terraces overlooking the Vallée de l’Orb. Here the hot Mediterranean climate is tempered by the north wind – the Tramontane - from the mountains of the Cévennes. Cool nights help Viranel’s grapes ripen gently.
