Tasting Note

Dark garnet color. The nose reveals frank notes of blackcurrant, blackberry and raspberry accompanied by fine spicy notes. On the palate, this wine is generous and aromatic. Its well-integrated tannins are velvety. A cuvée that combines typicity and modernity.

Product Notes

Domaine Berthoumieu Madiran Constance is a sumptuous red wine that hails from the Madiran appellation in the southwest region of France. This wine is made primarily from the Tannat grape, with small amounts of Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon blended in. The grapes are grown on steep hillsides, producing grapes with deeply concentrated flavor profiles. The resulting wine is full-bodied with a deep color and sturdy tannins that give it a long and satisfying finish. On the nose, aromas of blackberry, cassis, and chocolate are complemented by hints of tobacco and leather. Domaine Berthoumieu Madiran Constance is a wine that will age impeccably for many years to come.

About the Winery

Domaine Berthoumieu

The history and origin of Domaine Berthoumieu go back to as late as the 1850s. The winery was established in Viella town in the department of Gers by Virgile Dutour. After that time, its story was primarily uneventful. Several generations later, Didier Barré and Marie-Line took over Domaine Berthoumieu, around the 1990s. Since then, the winery has been one of the most renowned in France.
