Named for a pretty, purple Sicilian flower, this is a pretty, purple wine, its aromas of ripe plums, wild blackberries and jasmine surpassed in the mouth by chocolate, forest floor and black truffle.

Product Notes

Planeta Plumbago Sicilia D.O.C. is an exquisite Italian red wine that boasts a deep, intense ruby color with violet reflections. This full-bodied wine is made entirely from the Nero d'Avola grape variety, which is native to Sicily. The nose is rich and complex, with aromas of blackberry, black cherry, and hints of vanilla and spices. On the palate, it is well-structured, with silky tannins and flavors of ripe dark fruit, vanilla, and chocolate. This wine is aged in oak barrels for 12 months, which adds depth and complexity to its taste. It is best served with grilled meats or aged cheeses and has a long, lingering finish.
