Tohu Whenua Matua Single Vineyard Pinot Noir is an exquisite New Zealand red wine that perfectly embodies the unique character, complexity and purity of the premium grape variety Pinot Noir, sourced from the winery's exclusive vineyard in the Awatere Valley, Marlborough. With its deep ruby hue and elegant aromatics of dark cherries, plums and subtle oak notes, this Pinot Noir is deeply expressive and full of character. On the palate, the wine is medium-bodied with fine yet firm tannins, vibrant acidity and an impeccable balance between fruit, savoury and spice flavours, culminating in a long, satisfying finish that leaves a lasting impression. About the Winery

Tohu is the first wine business owned by the Māori in New Zealand. Since its establishment in 1998, the winery has focused on producing and developing single vineyards in its estates. It did so on the premier and renowned grape-growing areas and regions of the country. The tūpuna, or ancestors of the current owners of Tohu, were nothing more than a group of fishermen, planters, farmers, and providores. However, they were creative, astute, and determined in whatever they did. It was what allowed them to set up and run the winery.
