Tasting Note

Fairly moderate in sweetness at about 25 G/L RS this is a luminous, golden-hued Chenin Blanc with aromas of quince, apricot, honeycomb, and a touch of orange blossom and spice. The palate is gently sweet but vibrant, with lively acidity balancing flavours of baked pear, citrus peel, and a subtle saline finish. Textural, expressive, and perfectly poised.

Product Notes

François Chidaine Moelleux Vin de France is a luscious and complex wine that showcases the best of Loire Valley winemaking. Made from a blend of Chenin Blanc grapes grown in the Vouvray region, this Moelleux style wine is known for its rich, honeyed flavors and vibrant acidity. The wine has a beautiful golden hue and aromas of ripe stone fruit, beeswax, and wildflowers. On the palate, it offers a luxurious mouthfeel with notes of dried apricots, orange zest, and a touch of minerality. Perfectly balanced and elegant, François Chidaine Moelleux Vin de France is a true masterpiece that will delight any wine enthusiast.

About the Winery

François Chidaine

François Chidaine’s domaine sits in the heart of the Loire Valley, primarily in Montlouis-sur-Loire, right across the river from its more famous neighbor, Vouvray. The winery is based in the village of Husseau (part of Montlouis), with vineyards sprawling over about 45 hectares: roughly 22 ha in Montlouis, 10 ha in Vouvray (including the historic Clos Baudoin), and the rest under the broader Touraine appellation for reds, rosés, and some Sauvignon Blanc.
