Tasting Note

The Greywacke Pinotage has a deep garnet red colour with tinges of dark violet when young. The bouquet is complex with scents recalling wild berries, spice and cherries. On the palate the wine shows full body and rich dark chocolate with fruit flavours, balanced elegantly by tannins, with a long and lingering finish that reveals a sweetness reminiscent of liquorice.

Product Notes

Chamonix Greywacke Pinotage is a premium red wine produced in the heart of the Franschhoek Valley in South Africa. It is made from the Pinotage grape, a unique South African hybrid of Pinot Noir and Cinsaut. The wine has a deep ruby color and a complex aroma of dark fruit, smoky oak and spice. It is medium-bodied with a silky texture and flavors of black cherry, plum and mocha. The tannins are well-integrated, and the finish is long and smooth. This wine pairs perfectly with grilled meats, stews and strong cheeses, and is a great choice for a special occasion or a romantic dinner.
