About the Winery

Domaine des Roches Neuves

Domaine des Roches Neuves is a renowned biodynamic wine estate located in Varrains, within the Saumur appellation of the Loire Valley, France. The estate was founded in the 19th century, but it gained significant recognition after Thierry Germain took over in 1991. Originally from Bordeaux, Germain brought a meticulous, terroir-focused approach to the domaine. He transitioned the vineyards to organic farming in the late 1990s and fully adopted biodynamics by 2004. His son, Louis Germain, has since joined the estate, helping to continue and expand its legacy.
